Terms and conditions

Tariff. Daily rates are for 24hours, with no minimum mileage requirement. If daily rental is exceeded by more than 59 minutes, another full day will be charged.

Reservations. Will only be confirmed for car groups, not for a specific type of car. However every effort will be made to meet customers requests. Ask for long term rental rates if you wish to rent for a longer period but for lower costs.

Liability of renter. Whether being at fault or not, without additional insurances the renter is fully responsible for any damages to the rented vehicle, loss of its parts or equipment, fire, breakage of glass, vandalism, theft or any such attempt. Tyres are not insured.

Insurances

CDW (Collision damage waiver) and TP (Theft protection). By payment of additional fee the renter`s liability will be reduced to 7080.- EEK for car groups A,I; 8850.- EEK for car groups D,R,W and to 14160.- EEK for car groups E,H,K. Exceptions apply.

Super CDW. By accepting CDW and by payment of additional fee –the Super CDW- the renter`s liability is further reduced to 0.- EEK in case of any accident damages to the rented vehicle.

PAI (Personal accident insurance). For a charge of 76.70.- EEK per day, all passengers in PolarRent vehicle are insured.

Driving licence and age restrictions. All drivers must have possessed a driving licence for at least 2 years. The driving licence must be valid in Estonia. Minimum age of the renter must be 21 years for car group A and 25 years for all other groups.

Young driver surcharge. For drivers less than 25 years old additional charge of 29.50.- EEK per day applies.

Equipment. Additional equipment: baby seats, ski racks and luggage racks are available on request basis for small extra charges.

Accessories. All PolarRent vehicles are equipped with theft protection and alarm systems. Road maps are provided without charge. During winter months PolarRent vehicles are equipped with winter tyres.

Deposit. There is no deposit requirement for renters holding a PolarRent credit card or another authorized credit card. Cash payment is acceptable but the renter must present a valid credit cards as quarantee of bona fides.

Fuel. All cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel provided by PolarRent. If the car is returned with less than a full tank the renter will be charged for fuel used as well as for refuelling service.

FPO (Fuel Purchase Option). By purchasing a full tank of fuel at the beginning of rental the renter can skip refueling and return the car with less than a full tank to avoid time loss.

Chauffeur service is available upon request. For details, please check with the PolarRent Office.

Penalties- In case of loss of car documents and/or keys PolarRent will charge a penalty of 3540.- EEK. In case of wheel or tyre damage, PolarRent will charge a penalty of 1416.- EEK. Renter must also pay all penalties which are effectuated by wrong parking during rental period. If failing to do so, PolarRent reserves the right to charge the penalties and their interests as well as administrative costs to renter`s credit card. Penalties also apply for vandalised or lost car equipment.

Driving restrictions. Driving outside Estonia is subject to special conditions. Please check with PolarRent for further information.

Attention! In case of an accident or damage to the vehicle, injury to a person or in case of suspicion of theft of the vehicle or its parts, the renter should immediately contact the police. Also, PolarRent should be notified within 24 hours. In case of theft of the vehicle, the renter must present PolarRent the vehicle keys and registration certificate. If failing to do so, all insurances will be null and void.

All rates and prices are in Estonian kroons including VAT (VAT 18%). Types of cars, equipment, rates or conditions are subject to change without notice. Above mentioned terms and conditions are valid in Estonia.
